Simulation Software for Power Electronics

PLECS® is the tool of choice for high-speed simulations of power electronic systems. It is available in two editions: PLECS Blockset for seamless integration with MATLAB®/Simulink®, and PLECS Standalone, a completely independent product.

What's new in Version 4.1

  • Algebraic Loop Solver
    PLECS has been enhanced with the capability to solve algebraic loops. Several new components make use of this feature: Algebraic Constraint, Variable Resistor, Electrical Algebraic Component, Rotational Algebraic Component and Translational Algebraic Component.
  • Enhanced State Machine
    The State Machine has been enhanced withe Junctions to join and branch transitions and Time-based Triggers.
  • New Discretization Method
    For fixed-step simulation of physical models, a new discretization method with better accuracy and damping has been implemented as an alternative to the previously used Tustin method.
  • Target Code Generation now also for PLECS Blockset
    The PLECS Coder for PLECS Blockset is now also capable of producing code for the PLECS RT Box. Also, the External Mode can be used in PLECS Blockset to connect a PLECS model with an application running on the RT Box in order to tune parameter values and diplay captured data in the PLECS model.

New: RT Box

The PLECS RT Box is a state of the art real-time simulator. With its 32 analog and 64 digital input/output channels and its 1 GHz dual-core CPU it is a versatile processing unit for both real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and rapid control prototyping.
